Cello Suite No. 1 (also known as Prelude in G Major or BWV 1007) is one of the most popular pieces composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. It’s a highly recognizable piece that you’ve most likely heard in a movie or commercial.
Although this piece was originally written for the cello, this post covers an arrangement that has been adapted for the guitar with tabs.
An interesting feature of this guitar arrangement is that the lowest string gets tuned to a low C note. Changing to this tuning creates a beautiful range of notes that you’re not used to hearing with standard tuning.
Grab your guitar and let’s get started!
