Note identification
Can you name any note on the fretboard?
Try this three-step practice challenge
- Find your roots. Choose A and Minor pentatonic. Find the purple A notes on different strings and play three of them. Tap a position to check its note.
- Connect the degrees. Switch to Degrees and play 1, ♭3, 4, 5, ♭7 in one position. Find the same degrees in a neighboring position, then play a short phrase across both.
- Check your note knowledge. Start the note quiz and name five notes. The quiz uses the whole fretboard, including notes outside the selected scale. Play each answer on your guitar before moving on.
